<p>The Human Body.. a finely tuned machine.. But like this porsche has lost its sleek curves, and is trapped inside a mess of blub.</p>
<p>This kind of conceptual art has a lot of meaning because we all know what a Porsche should look like.. Just like we know what we should look like. But why do we let ourselves go? Why do we become that overweight Porsche?</p>
<p>I would like to say that its big business trying to make a buck off of us through increasing consumption of the <span style="color:#ff0000;">worst foods</span> we could possibly eat (see <a href="http://35mm.instantfundas.com/2008/11/honest-restaurant.html?showComment=1226815020000">Heart Attack Grill</a>)</p>
<p>But I believe it&#8217;s a combination of these glutton factories with new research suggesting a mutation of the <a href="http://www.sciencebase.com/science-blog/obesity-gene.html">&#8220;fat gene&#8221; </a>that normally triggers a sensor in our brain that tells us we&#8217;ve had enough. Ok.. so now what?</p>
<p><strong>STOP <em>RATIONALIZING</em></strong>.. If you felt content with the explination I just gave as to why you are a few pounds or a hundred pounds over weight.. then you will always be <span style="color:#ff0000;">fat.</span></p>
<p><strong>START <em>REALIZING</em></strong>.. ok so if research suggests overweight people have a mutated gene.. and it might be possible you have that mutated gene.. you are going to need to work  a lot  harder to get where you want to be. And I know that might get you a bit down.. realizing that you were born with this gene that you have no control over.. But you need to be proactive and take the extra measures to lead a healthy lifestyle.. to be a better human.. Realize your potential.</p>

<p>What to look for from Human/Food</p>
<p>- Categories for easier viewing -</p>
<p>              Recipes (that i&#8217;ve actually tried) I just got a camcorder and my friend just graduated from culinary school.. lets get cookin!</p>
<p>              Human Food Scale &#8211; We will be rating restaurants and fast food chains on how good or bad they are for you.. don&#8217;t eat anything that isn&#8217;t <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">HF </span></strong>rated</p>
<p>             Shopping Lists &#8211; I will come up with a list of basic items you need to eat like a good human. THEN, I will update and refine the list as new products arise, or as my <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taste_bud">taste buds</a> change.</p>
<p>             On-Campus Gourmet &#8211; Being a college guy we learned through a process of trial and error about what works and what doesn&#8217;t when it comes to cooking on campus</p>
<p>I have big plans for making this blog completely interactive.. I want you to email me your own human food recipes, videos of you cooking those recipes, shopping lists, etc..</p>

What I&#8217;m talking about is the nasty additives called M.S.G. and Aspartame.</p>
<p>You can find these additives in highly processed foods.. as well as sugar free products. They help food taste better, in fact, they figured out that along with the other things our tounges detect (protein, sugar, salt, fat) it detects the presence of MSG.. and it&#8217;s quite delightful.</p>

I took a philosophy class this past semester. <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Trial and Death of Socrates</span></strong> explained what was good and bad, but according to the greeks nothing was more sinful than doing things excessively. We have a problem in our society and that is keeping consumation in moderation. Whether its consuming food, alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, even products and services. We have a moderation problem. <strong>But</strong> since this is a healthy food blog.. ill list a few tips to help moderate your food intake. You&#8217;ve probably heard a few of these</p>
<p>1.  Eat Smaller meals.. bring food with you wherever you go. Its ok to nibble every now and then but you should be eating small meals every three hours. The bigger the meals and the bigger the gap between meals means SLOWER SLOPPY metabolism. This means your body will be slower to burn off the fat and calories you just ate&#8230; let that information sink in a little better</p>
<p>sunk? GREAT, now apply it to your life.</p>
<p>2. When your out to eat, don&#8217;t feel bad about leaving half of your food. You might hear &#8220;you hardly ate!!&#8221; but its ok.. you shouldnt feel stuffed when you eat.. ALSO.. dont feel weird about taking your food back home and having it for lunch the next day..</p>
<p>3. Trying to lose weight?.. Plan out your meals &#8211; try to figure out your daily caloric intake.. whatever your taking in right now.. drop 500 calories a day. YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT. It&#8217;s a proven fact if you drop your calories by just 500 calories a day, you&#8217;ll lose weight&#8230; Taking the stairs or parking really far will help too <img src='http://s2.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>4. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.. look at the serving size.. this is a mistake made by many.. you try to be healthier by looking at the nutrition label but fail to recognize that if your drinking that whole bottle of coke you should multiply everything by 2..</p>
<p>Ok so these tips should help you moderate a little better.. O and i&#8217;ll leave you with a crazy fact..</p>
<p>FACT: to burn off ONE M&amp;M you must walk a whole football field.. 100 yards.. to burn off ONE PEANUT M&amp;M you must walk TWO whole football fields.. 200 yards..</p>
<p>Think about that next time you eat an M&amp;M.. think about HUMAN/FOOD</p>

He works at a gym in my town. Convenient and Free. BUT, thats not the topic. We were talking about religions and why humans need it. It started off with a theory from buddhism. If you let go of your ego and your attachment to physcial worldly addictions or thinking about personal gain only the world would be a better place. Then I started to think about religion in general. HEAVEN.. what is it? You get the visual of puffy clouds and white things everywhere, clean, pure. Other religions have similar ideas, For example 40 virgins. What I can not understand is how people can really believe there is 40 virgins waiting for them when we probably have NO concept of what heaven or the after life is like. It <strong>CANT</strong> be anything that we can conceive of because what we conceive already exists and is in our current world.  So if its in our current world and it can be acheived (not saying we all have had 40 virgins, it is possible though) and you can get it in the afterlife.. whats the difference between life and death? Does time pass normally? What do you do with that time? Do you get bored? None of that.. I believe there is something after we die but it is nothing we can even realize.. because we are here.. now.  I am kind of into scientific theories and applying it to our &#8220;spiritual nature&#8221; that no other animal seems to have. Except Humans. Sooo if anyone wants to waste time thinking about what happens to us after death.. post a comment. Also subscribe. Make an effort to eat healthier and live life healthier. THATS what we were meant to do. But just dont devote your life to believing in something that you can&#8217;t prove is real it only creates attitudes about others that you shouldn&#8217;t have.</p>

IT IS A FACT: If you don&#8217;t buy it at the grocery store, you won&#8217;t eat. Simple enough? When creating your next food shopping list.. Forget about the cookies and shit you normally would pick up to satisfy your sweet tooth. I mean you probably will need a quick fix, and I list a few items below that are Human Food worthy.  I plan on going to the grocery store today because our power was out for 2 days and everything in the fridge was ruined.. kinda like ethnic cleansing.. Except the country is my fridge and the ethnicity is full of extremely processed fat/calories/shit. Harsh way to put it.. I know.</p>
<p>Ok here is my list &#8211; Btw I suggest a Whole Foods Supermarket because of their large variety of ORGANIC food. ORGANIC = HUMAN FOOD (it tastes better too!!!)</p>
<p><strong>100% whole-wheat bread</strong> (70 to 90 calories and at least 2 g fiber per slice)<br />
<strong>Brown rice</strong> (such as Uncle Ben&#8217;s Fast &amp; Natural Whole Grain Instant Brown Rice)<br />

<p>Being an &#8220;OK&#8221; human myself when it comes to nutrition, problem I don&#8217;t always practice what I preach. Right now,  I could definitely lose a few pounds. Truth is I have a HARD time maintaining my weight, mainly because I have a secret love affair with  food. Everything about it. It&#8217;s the cheeses,  meats, HOT breads, all the different spices and aroma, I get food and food gets me. <p>OK now with that out of the way.. Us humans were created and have maintained a pretty decent diet over the years of our existence. Imagine the quality and freshness of the food humans ate back in the day.  It hasn&#8217;t been until recently that the junk food in our poor diets have really caught up with us. Obesity is out of control and something needs to be done.  Now, I am a college student so this is mainly for the single humans or couples,  but hey, I guess for the families out there there&#8217;s always something to learn.</p>
